POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for the daily operation of the work sites in accordance with the standard operating procedures, coordinating with the concerned subordinates.
AUTHORITIES & ACCOUNTABILITY:
Selecting the sub contractors with the consent of General Manager. Instruct / Control site Management team.
Approve work schedule, Decide manpower requirements for ongoing project sites with the consent of General Manager.
Accountable for on time completion of projects undertaken.
To oversee the planning, scheduling and implementations of designs in the most effective way in coordination with the Project Engineers / Sr.Civil Engineer / Civil Engineer.
Managing and liaising with project / survey team members and clients, whilst ensuring safe and healthy systems of work are implemented.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
To plan, direct and coordinate all construction sites. To ensure that all projects are planned with
regard to optimizing resources / cost / timescale / quality & safety.
Responsible for the profitability of the Projects undertaken.
To coordinate & supervise the construction process from the conceptual development stage through final construction, ensuring the completion of the projects within schedule and budget.
To oversee the planning, scheduling and implementations of designs in the most effective way in coordination with the Project Engineers / Sr.Civil Engineer / Civil Engineer.
Coordinating with the Sr.Civil Engineer on technical, budget schedule issues and ensure that required approvals are obtained from the consultants on time to proceed with the constructions.
To schedule and coordinate the selection, hiring of sub-contractors to complete specific pieces of the project and to oversee their performance ensuring that all work is completed on schedule.
Lead the Sr.Civil Engineer / Civil Engineer & facilitate the communication & interaction for the steady progress of the projects in coordination with General Manager.
To divide all required construction site activities into logical steps, budgeting the time required to meet established deadlines.
Ensure Sr.Civil Engineers / Civil Engineers are adequately briefed on method of statement contents and site specific arrangements.
Regular checking of all sites and should inform Management regarding status /discrepancies.
Assigning work location for New ecruits. & attend all Progress meetings.
Coordinate & Follow-up with Procurement / Purchase department for timely delivery of all materials / items related to the site requirements.
Approval rates for the subcontracts (includes vehicle / equipment hiring, materials etc.)
All material requisition may be approved initially confirming the necessity.
All LPO’s regarding material procurement has to be viewed and forward to General Manager after confirming rates are well within project budget & arrival within project schedule.
Provide technical direction and guidance to site management team consisting of but not limited to Project Engineers, Site Engineering staff ( Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Safety, Quality & Material Controller).
Track the Projects running within the budget & timely intimation to the concerned.
Manpower allocation with the consent of General Manager including Staff / Labour.
To determine the labour requirements sourcing all resources in coordination with the Sr.Civil Engineer / Civil Engineer, allocation, direct and monitor the progress of construction activities, emphasizing quality construction.
Prepare forecast of Manpower mobilization & demobilization.
To forward the weekly & monthly status reports of all ongoing projects to the General Manager every last working day of the week
Attend meetings with clients / consultants.
Report to GM regularly regarding the progress of work at all sites.
Liaison with  consultants of all projects for the smooth execution of work.
Familiarizing them with and observing all regulations, acts and codes of practice etc. applicable to the project work and surveys being carried out.
Managing and liaising with project / survey team members and clients, whilst ensuring safe and healthy systems of work are implemented.
Setting up and maintain good reporting procedures, communications and distribution of information between employees.
Ensuring the needs for personal and respiratory protective equipments are assessed and that the appropriate selection for specific operations is made, and that all contractors / sub-contractors under the direct control of AJTC do the same.
Undertaking Safety reviews, Hazard Identification / Risk Assessments, manual Handling Assessments and COSHH Assessments where applicable.
Ensuring safe systems of work are implemented and adhered to at all time.
Ensuring where appropriate, site emergency plans, are established and implemented.
Ensuring that all hazardous materials are properly marked, used and stored, as outlined in the COSHH assessments and by the control of OHS Regulations (MD286/2008).
Accompanying visiting personnel and to take prompt action concerning any complaint or    advice received.
Cooperating with and maintaining good working relationship with safety department /officers / manager.
