Provide advice to VP SCM in recruiting team members for the EMC and ensure staffing of at least one Omani within the team
Support the provision of office space and required infrastructure resources for the EMC team
Define roles and responsibilities of the EMC team, align with VP SCM and communicate to all relevant stakeholders as defined in RACI
Facilitate and provide training to EMC team in collaboration with Talent Management unit to ensure professional and effective use of tools for selection, evaluation and development of suppliers
Advise EMC team in transferring of registered supplier and subcontractor files from buyers
Safeguard review of corporate supplier and subcontractor codification philosophy and suggest modifications where required
Facilitate establishment of fixed supplier and subcontractor base limits (in terms of size as well as location wise) for each category
Foster identification of opportunities for developing inhouse capabilities for subcontracted activities and notify management
Ensure continuous identification of new suppliers and subcontractors for frequently purchased items and activities to foster competition
Warrant the conduct of supplier and subcontractor qualification
Assure capability assessments through QHSE prior to registration of suppliers and subcontractors as per company procedure
Drive completion of the supplier and subcontractor registration process if suppliers and subcontractors are considered capable
Ensure continuous updating/maintenance of supplier and subcontractor data available to the company
Guarantee the definition of the evaluation criteria for suppliers and subcontractors as well as involvement of engineering team members whenever required
Drive the design and setup of the required supplier evaluation tool as well as involvement of engineering team members whenever required
Ensure carryout of supplier and subcontractor evaluation
