- Responsible for maintenance and repair and servicing of the Diesel Electric Generators available at Power Plant.
- Ensure that all engines are maintained to the highest possible standard and that they are not jeopardized by prolonged operation without maintenance.
- Ensure that all maintenance work is carried out efficiently and speedily.
- Follow the planned maintenance requirements of the generating sets operation manual and to plan for such maintenance to be carried out.
- Work with all generating plants superintendents and supervisors to ensure that generating sets are not removed from operation planned maintenance without the understanding of the Area Manager and RAECO area operation engineer
- Manage staff of mechanics and co-operative understanding with electrical technicians.
- Schedule and plan maintenance ensuring that sufficient plant is available to meet the needs of the system.
- Design and implement a planned maintenance program for all the power plants.
- Identify spare parts required for each maintenance activity and ensure that spare parts are available for both planned maintenance and sufficient parts are on hand to cover any breakdown maintenance.
- Raise requests for purchase for all parts and other items
- required maintaining all power plants.
