To supervise and coordinate spreading, rolling, and tamping asphalt ensuring all specifications and quality parameters are achieved in a safe and cost efficient manner.
To manage & supervise plant, labour, resources and key personnel to ensure that on-going projects are carried out within the client’s specification and completed within timeframe without compromising quality and in strict adherence to Colas SHE Policy
Ensure optimum use of plant and equipment.
Assist the Business/Contracts Manager in the preparation of programmes and resource allocation.
To assume the functions of the Line Manager in his absence in a limited capacity only
To handle commercial aspects in relation to the Project
To provide information and/or advise Quantity Surveyors regarding the progress of work for invoicing
Assume responsibility to get the work certified from Consultants/Clients
To conduct site visits and inspections for prospective clients and assist in tendering for upcoming
projects within scope of work
To liaise with clients, customers and subcontractors regarding vital issues on projects and to raise concerns for upcoming projects prior to commencement
To follow-up on the logistical issue with the supplier & procurement
Asphalt ordering for timely completion of work to meet customer needs
Needs to liaise with the contracting team - and provide a work status report to Line Manager
Make sure that CVI (confirmation of verbal instruction) are done properly by supervisors / foremen and monitor it for accuracy
To ensure that correct information regarding the projects on site levels, limits & offsets, target completion dates, working hours, manpower & equipment availability, safety issues of hired-plant & subcontract labour are properly disseminated to everyone concerned
Control costs to ensure contracts are carried out within tender budget
To check the validity of operatives timesheets and purchase invoices
To ensure that adequate records are kept for the preparation of the accounts
Setting out key level data for Highways and Civil Engineering schemes
