Responsibilities :
- Fault level calculation of substations at different voltage levels up to two hundred twenty kV.
- Sizing calculation of CTs, CBs, DC system, etc…
- Relay setting calculations for various protection schemes, which include distance, differential, etc.
- Design of protection schemes for new panels as well as modification in existing, conferring to the variations in protection scenarios.
- Analyze on the EHV interruptions, research on the protection malapropisms andrectifications as necessary.
- Retrofitting of a variety of modern Numerical Relays to old panels with necessary scheme changes and wirings.
- Setting of Numeric, Static and Electromechanical relays
- Adjustments on electromechanical relay elements and replacement (repair) ofcomponents in static relays to fine tune the relay to required functionality
- Implementing the Testing and Commissioning Program for the Electrical discipline up to two hundred twenty
KV Grid Stations
- Work with project team to fully develop system integration of protection, control, and monitoring systems
- Perform basic calculations such as relay burden, voltage drop, and short circuit calculations
- Perform relay coordination studies and prepare relay settings
- Create/modify design documents and drawings for a project, including one-lines, three-lines, control schematics and wiring diagrams, relay panel arrangements and specifications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, and generating bills of material
- Design auxiliary AC and DC power systems
- Develop SCADA system and communications interfaces
- Knowledge of protection principles and practices for transmission lines, distribution feeders, and major substation equipment
- Strong knowledge of AC/DC fundamentals, including understanding of three-phase power systems
- Knowledge of design documents and drawings necessary to complete a substation protection and control design project
- Experience in Preparation of Testing and commissioning procedures/ Method of Statements
- Testing and Commissioning of Switchgears: 132 kVGIS / 66 kVGIS / 11 k V AIS and LV
21) Transformers: 132 / 33 k V, 33 / 11 kV, 33 /11 kV rating up to one hundred twenty-five
MVA
- Knowledge on Protection System: Feeder, Transformer and Cable Differential Protections
- Experienced in testing and commissioning of HV & MV cables and DC System
- Experienced in substation SCS/SCADA as added advantage.
- Familiar with IEC thirteen million, two hundred sixty-one thousand, eight hundred fifty Protocol, feeder/transformer stability test and relays
- Familiar with Protection System: Feeder, Transformer and Cable Differential Protections
- Testing & commissioning of O/C & E/F, voltage and frequency relays, Testing & commissioning of all distribution protection schemes
- Testing and Commissioning of LV Circuit Breakers
- Complete Study/review of Vendor drawings and taking approval from the Client
- Preparation of Design calculation for the one hundred thirty-two KV, 33 kV and LV cables
- Familiar with CT/VT calculations of the electrical network
- Relay setting calculation with the upstream end substations
- SCADA /SCS Scheme check works
- Relay programming, Disturbance record analysis and fault finding carried out
- one hundred thirty-two KV and 33 Kv Busbar stability and Transformer stability tests
- Complete Pre and Final commissioning of Substations upto one hundred thirty-two / 33 k V Grid Stations
- Preparation of testing reports and as built drawings
- Ability to pass the Oman Electrical Authority Test for the Protection engineer (DCRP) both written and practical exam
