A leading catering and life support services company in Oman is looking to recruit a Procurement Manager that has an extensive experience in the hospitality industry and having occupied a similar position in a large scale operation. Main duties are as follows:
1. forecast levels of demand for services and products
2. conduct research to ascertain the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules and quality
3. liaise between suppliers, relevant internal departments and customers
4. build and maintain good relationships with new and existing suppliers
5. negotiate and agree contracts, monitoring the quality of service provided
6. develop strategies to make sure that cost savings and supplier performance targets are met - or exceeded
7. undertake value for money reviews of existing contracts and arrangements
8. forecast price trends and their impact on future activities
9. produce reports and statistics on spending and saving
10. evaluate bids and make recommendations, based on commercial and technical factors
11. ensure suppliers are aware of business objectives
12. train and supervise the work of other members of staff
13. oversee the supply chain activities
