General Description of Role and Responsibilities:
Conduct traffic impact assessments, traffic flow analyses, and safety studies to understand transportation needs and identify potential issues.
Design transportation infrastructure, including roadways, intersections, traffic signals, and pedestrian facilities, while considering factors like capacity, safety, and sustainability.
Work on public transit projects, including bus rapid transit (BRT) and light rail systems, to improve mass transit options and reduce traffic congestion.
Optimize traffic signal timing to improve traffic flow, reduce congestion, and enhance safety.
Develop parking management plans and strategies to optimize parking utilization in urban areas.
Use transportation modeling software to simulate and predict traffic behavior and make data-driven decisions.
Consider environmental impacts and work on projects that reduce the carbon footprint of transportation systems.
Identify and implement safety measures, such as road design modifications and traffic calming, to reduce accidents.
Work closely with government agencies, municipalities, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure projects align with community needs and goals.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal transportation regulations and standards.
Estimate project costs, prepare budgets, and assist with financial planning for transportation projects.
Prepare detailed reports, plans, and technical documents for project proposals, permitting, and public presentations.
Perform other duties as assigned by the client and the line manager.
