• Ensures high HSE standards are followed in accordance with STOMO HSE policies and procedures. Aims for ZERO harm.
• Coordinates all planned and unplanned maintenance activities in accordance with the PWPA;
• Responsible for preparing short term and long maintenance strategy for the plant
• Responsible for ensuring that the preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance program is implemented in accordance with OEM recommendations and best practices.
• Day-to-day management of the maintenance of the plant by a dedicated Maintenance Team;
• Ensures adequate control over contractors and all contract jobs in line with STOMO contractor control procedures.
• Responsible for the design, sourcing and implementation of facility engineering improvements;
• Responsible for maintaining accurate and complete maintenance reports, third party reports and RCA reports.
• Ensures adequate preparation for annual plant performance tests.
• Prepares for major and minor overhauls while optimizing costs/resources.
• Establishes and maintains the computerised Maintenance Management System for the plant;
• Supervises use and auditing of the Site Quality Assurance and Safety Programs;
• Assists in budget expense/capital planning and control;
• Facilitates training and development of staff across all areas;
• Plans, organizes and manages overhauls and plant inspections;
• Optimizes the plant’s controllable maintenance costs base through the use of defined KPI’s;
• Investigates, diagnoses and solves plant problems;
• Responsible for all spares and consumables inventory and management strategy;
• Ensures the plant is maintained safely and cost effectively to achieve the plant’s long and short term performance aims;
• Administers the Maintenance Training Program;
• Formulates, implements and is accountable for the Maintenance Department Budget;
• Plans, schedules, records, monitors, analyses and reports on all maintenance activities;
• Prepares specifications, plans and administers Third Party Contracts and other maintenance contracts;
• Performs annual plant maintenance audits;
• Initiates the scheduled preventative maintenance of all plant, equipment, machinery, facilities and other physical assets related to his function;
• Implements the necessary established schedules for the proper maintenance and allocation of manpower, material, machinery and equipment resources assigned to the plant;
• Assumes a leadership role in the area of safety and upholding safety as a core value. Develops and guides the implementation of Work Safety Procedures and Practices;
• Maintains communication and relations as are necessary to report on the status of matters requiring action and in order to ensure that corrective action is planned and undertaken;
• Evaluates and provides recommendations on maintenance methods, procedures and schedules;
• Receives and evaluates pertinent reports relating to cost and progress of maintenance activities on the plant and transmits the analysis to the Site Manager.
• Performs, follow up and interface for works performed in relation to the LTSA/LTPRA;
• Sets maintenance objectives, performance indicators in line with the Business Plan;
• Monitors progress and provides steering in order to achieve or surpass the set objectives;
• Implements lessons learned processes and other activities to achieve a learning organization;
• Determines and schedules the manpower requirements for each maintenance activity;
• Works closely with outside inspection and overhaul contractors and provides them with all the necessary support;
• Implements established Policies and Procedures for the purchasing or requisitioning of material from the stores;
• Reviews and recommends electrical/mechanical/civil maintenance Methods and Procedures;
• Maintains confidentiality of all information available to the position.
