Job objectives and responsibilities:
You will be part of a small team supporting all commercial legal matters across a diverse business operating predominantly in Oman but with operations in the UAE. A strong background in commercial law and related compliance matters is critically important for this role. Your focus will be on ensuring the business is supported with commercial legal reviews of contracts and tender documents as well as supporting company secretarial services associated with a listed company as required. High standards of compliance and corporate governance are critical skills of this post holder.

Main duties:
• Drafting various key contracts, policy documents, legal letters and other supporting documents.
• Reviewing, negotiating and advising on various commercial agreements and contractual matters.
• Providing appropriate advice on a diverse range of substantive and procedural questions of law.
• Monitoring changes in the legislative and regulatory environment.
• Liaising with external third parties such as governmental regulatory bodies, lawyers and auditors
• Providing necessary support during mergers, acquisitions and other restructuring related activities.
• Attending Board and General meetings and preparing minutes.
• Reviewing and tracking mandatory compliance requirements.
• Assisting Company Secretary in quarterly and other disclosures to the Capital Market Authorities, Oman.
• Drafting various compliance-related policies, and procedures for the company ensuring adequate systems and controls are fully documented.
• Assist the company with maintaining high standards of corporate governance.
• Providing advice to colleagues and senior managers on routine legal matters.
