thebigword Defence Division is currently looking for an experienced local Arabic linguist to complete interpreting and translation services alongside the military in Oman.
The selected interpreter will be offered a freelance 1 year contract and will be based in Masnaah Air Base, you will be required to commute on a daily basis.
As the full time linguist you will be required to work 5 days a week (Sunday – Thursday) and be available on-call.
As part of your responsibilities you will be involved in:
1. Letter translation/drafting services
2. Act as a local interlocutor with providers of goods and services to the EAW
3. Assist with local financial banking procedures
4. Provide on-call services in case of medical emergency
5. Assist with immigration/border administration at airport
6. Assist in mediation with local HN security access issues
