Job Purpose
To oversee the operation and maintenance of the entire IT system at the power station for its reliable and efficient Operation. To manage and maintain all IT functions including but not limited to Cyber Security of intranet IT system, DCS & control system as applicable and other works such as preparation of IT Policy, Disaster Recovery, evaluation of bids and short listing of vendors, review and monitoring of contracts and inventory level.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic
• Should be able to plan & manage the IT Department independently.
• Develop the annual departmental strategic plan covering all aspects of the departments work, and deliver the plan
• Develop and recommend required modifications in the Departmental policies and procedures.
• Provide adequate leadership to keep different projects on schedule
• Responsible for developing a culture which is target and performance oriented
Operational
• OSISoft's PI Administration, Archiving and Tag Creation into System
• OSISoft's PI Interface Configurations with DCS and Databases
• Administration of LAN/WAN/WLAN/CCTV Networks
• Administration/Troubleshooting of Ericsson BP-250 PABX
• Administration of Motorola GP-344 Radios
• Application Support for Engica, Meezan, PI DataLink and BASES
• Troubleshooting Skills of GE's GateCycle Fuel Demand Model
• Troubleshooting of Severs/Desktops/Notebooks/Printers and BlackBerry devices
• Daily Backup of Servers
• Restoration of Backups/Disaster Recovery if necessary
• Implementation and Management of IT Security Policies including IT Policy for Users ? Formatting and Configuration of Servers/Desktops/Notebooks
• Of and On IT Training of End Users including CMMS/MS Office /Crystal Report Writer/PI and BASES
• Managing Service Help Desk for all sort of IT Service Calls
• Hands on Experience in making small software with back end database in MS SQL Server, MS Access Able to Generate Reports from different Databases
• Good Knowledge of OSISoft's PI, SQL, Engica and BASES
• Ensure compliance with the Oman Code of conduct.
Qualifications & Experience
• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree with minimum of 5 years' relevant experience..
• Preferably Master's Degree. Degree in IT or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of Practical experience in IT department
• Proficiency in English and Arabic is a must
• Candidates must have experience of help desk or related software. SAP Experience will be preferred
