The Hydraulic technician is required to perform skilled tasks in the hydraulic system repair and maintenance of logistic transport including MAN trucks, TERBERG trucks and Container lifting equipment (Empty handlers, Reach stackers & Top loaders of make KONECRANES)
Key responsibilities and activities
· To carry out all kinds of major trouble shooting / repairs / Overhauls various major components / assemblies like hydraulic pumps, control valve, final drive, transmission, steering clutch, axles, etc. of heavy equipment like Reach stackers, Empty handlers, Top loaders, forklifts.
· Read Schematic and diagrams while troubleshooting and diagnosing problems
· Perform preventative maintenance to avoid operational failures of hydraulic systems
· Disassemble and assemble hydraulic components.
· Read and understand service materials.
· Evaluate operation of machinery and equipment to diagnose cause of malfunction
· Using Hydraulic jacks or hoist, to gain access to the underside of the unit to aid in the removal or replacement of assemblies such as suspension assemblies, axles, brakes, etc.
· Perform preventative maintenance requirements and maintain all hydraulic systems as per OEM standards.
· Performs proper set up and calibration of the hydraulic automated circuit components.
· Work and troubleshoot variable pressures up to 5000 psi.
· Overhaul and repair hydraulic cylinders, to include pressure testing
· Overhaul and repair various types of hydraulic valves to include set up and calibration.
· Overhaul hydraulic motors and pumps, to include pressure testing and set up.
· Capable to fit, measure and identify hydraulic hose requirements for all equipment circuits.
· Perform repairs using torque wrenches and measuring tools.
· Communicates any unsafe conditions or accidents in a timely manner
· Measure and record technical data as tasks are completed, inspect documentation prior to job closure.
Job Requirements
Education & Experience
· Qualified hydraulic technician with 10 years minimum trade experience
· Specific exposure on Dozers, Excavators, Graders, Wheel loaders, Dump trucks, lifting equipment etc. with relevant hands on experience and able to carry out all kinds of major trouble shooting / repairs / Overhauls various major components / assemblies like hydraulic pumps, control valve, final drive, transmission, steering clutch, axles, etc. of heavy equipment
· General idea of electrical / electronic and Hydraulic circuits used in these machines is desirable
· Ability to read and understand the hydraulic circuits is mandatory.
· Candidates who have specifically worked with container handlers, Reach stackers & lifting equipment are preferable
Language & Computer Literacy
· Very good English verbal & written communication
· Good knowledge of Microsoft Office: Excel, PowerPoint, Word
· Basic SAP data entry knowledge and reports creation
· Basic knowledge of mathematical formulas and calculations.
