A western upstream oil and gas company is seeking a geophysicist with at least 5 years’experience from seismic interpretation in the oil & gas industry. In addition to strong seismic interpretation skills, the successful candidate is expected to have good geological knowledge to enhance the interpretation and be able to put the interpretation in a geological context.
Job responsibilities:
Main task would be to work on seismic interpretation in a non-operated asset including
development, appraisal and exploration. Knowledge of IHS Kingdom software is an advantage.
Moreover, the successful candidate would be expected to do work in operated assets from
time to time.
Review the operator’s well proposal for development, appraisal and exploration wells
Interpret newly acquired seismic with the aim of finding leads and prospects
Review existing seismic to identify overlooked opportunities
Review seismic in development and appraisal areas to identify opportunities
Provide STOOIP estimates from seismic interpretation for existing discoveries and new
leads and prospects
